RE: [asa] Resolution affirming Creation and Evolution

Just teasing. I hope everyone reads it and understands that emerge
doesn't mean, well, emerge in the sense of emerging from something. Uh,
we know what you guys meant. But it does illustrate what can happen
when church lay people try to tackle complex scientific matters. Like,
why didn't you float a draft on this forum for example? What are we,
chopped liver? Dave or Pim would have caught that. Heck, even I caught
it.

"Emergence" in the resolution refers to the emergence of new species
over time, though I see that this could be misunderstood. Whether "no
one will read it anyway" remains to be seen.

scientific explanation for the emergence of life on earth ."
 
I don't think you wanted to imply that evolution describes how life
emerged. It describes the progression of life through time, but
something has to be in place before it can evolve. Evolution involves
change, it doesn't apply to an initial condition. But don't worry,
probably no one will read it anyway.
