[asa] the ASA email list - why not a message forum instead??

MessageI do wish the list would evolve from an email list and become a message forum. There is plenty of low-cost message forum software to choose from, and webhosting is so cheap nowadays. The advantages include:

- categorization of general topics
- threads are not forced on the forum membership since members will have a choice of what thread they want to enter
- offending posts can be removed
- for researchers, e.g. myself, topics of interest can be searched for previous discussions
- no more email management for end users since the posts are contained in one website
- most message forum software products allow members of the forum to subscribe to threads that interest them, thus they get only emails they requested

To unsubscribe, send a message to majordomo@calvin.edu with
"unsubscribe asa" (no quotes) as the body of the message.
