I know that perfectly well. The earliest evidence of sticks used for counting is
among the Neanderthals at La Ferassie. That bone was similar to American Indian
counting sticks

At the Museum of the American Indian, Heye Foundation, new
York, there is a long, four-faced 'calendar stick' of the Pima
Indians, Arizona, that represents forty-five years of notation,
with one unpainted notch for each year and with other painted
notches and dots representing important events to be remembered
in each year, such as the 'raid' of one year, the meteoric shower
of another, the earthquake of another, the flood of still
another, or the great snowstorm of another." ~ Alexander
Marshack, The Roots of Civilization,(New York: McGraw-Hill Book
Co., 1972), p. 139-140

"Even more significant, in a Neanderthal level at La Ferrassie in
the Dordogne, a bit of stone in the grave of a child was
intentionally engraved with linear sequences comparable to those
in the Upper Paleolithic and to this one [Teviec--GRM] found in
the Mesolithic." ~ Alexander Marshack, The Roots of
Civilization,(New York: McGraw-Hill Book Co., 1972), p. 349

David, you once again ignored the question I asked. Can a Mormon claim that his
book is factually false but theologically true and thus save his religion from the
embarassement of having no archaeological support?

I find it laughable and sad that you all continually ignore this question. This is
the YEC-like achilles heel of old earth accommodationalists.

I still bet Paul will answer the question. Even when he and I disagree, he has guts
to follow the logic. Unlike apparently many others.
