The Bible tells us our place:
Ecclesiastes 3:18
I also thought, "As for men, God tests them so that they may see that they are like the animals.
Ecclesiastes 3:19
Man's fate is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath ; man has no advantage
over the animal.
And if one wants to believe the Bible, it says that the animal also will face judgement:
Genesis 9:5
And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. And from each man, too, I will demand an
accounting for the life of his fellow man.
Of course, thinking of ourselves as animals hurts our pride, so the conservatives rip these verses out of the Bible and fight evolution like crazy.
