What is man?

Apes and dolphins communicate.
Apes and other animals, I believe even some birds use tools.
Several species marry for life.

Beavers and other species change their environment.
Raccoons wash their food before eating.

Macaws I believe collect knick knacks. And so do barracudas.

What makes man superior?

I don't think there is a good answer to this question. Glenn Morton - if
there isn't a good answer to who we are, then how can we expect a good
answer to who God is?
