Every infinitesimal unit of time is under God's rule, and without His mercy,
we would all vanish into oblivion with no remembrance. So I wonder why
anyone should think that the only options are a narrow reading of Gen 1-11,
or God simply wound up the universe 15 billion years ago (or whatever) and
has been in repose ever since. And since God is the maker of all things
visible and invisible, why must we insist on seeing the "Intel inside"
stamped
on every unit made by heaven. Isn't that more of a human need for
recognition
and respect?
I think there is enough, that God's work is "plain to see", though some
people
like Bertrand Russell complained forcefully about the "enough" part; but even
Bertrand Russell did not say "none whatsoever".
Yes, maybe (for a moment) it would seem nice to be able to explain that "how"
question. Were we to have that, we could go around bludgeoning people over
the head with that "how" answer. I guess that's exactly why God won't yield
that "how" to us. We've already shown long ago what we're capable of with
infinitely smaller things. Moreover, by way of example, I remember best the
people who showed faith in me; so, in the same way, faith (not fear by way of
proof) seem to me to be an essential part of a relationship with our Creator.
by Grace we proceed,
Wayne
