Generally I'm not a fan of Cal Thomas, but I liked what he had to say on

What I find odd is that you don't see nearly as many people objecting to the
retail world co-opting Easter to sell plastic eggs and stuffed bunnies. It
would seem to me that Christians would be even more motivated to protect
their most sacred holiday from commercialization. You don't even see the
widespread charity that you see at Christmas, like the various toy drives
and Santa funds. Our church participates in a ministry to send Easter
baskets to the children of prisioners, but that's about it.
