RE: Genealogical Gaps?

Why this won't address the issue of "God inspired scripture" it might
add to the confusion regarding genealogies. I was born, grew up and live
in New Guinea. The people here (well, one of the tribes) has an official
ancestor geneaology of 7 generations. Me and my folks combined life
there now cover 3 generations yet the genealogy remains 7 generations.
Further, if you examine closely their creation myth and apply it to
anthropology/history/migratory movements of the tribe their history goes
back to the creation of their people which in fact is the entrance of
the tribe into this particular region/river system.

Obviously WE know they did not come into being 50 Kms from their current
area. They must have crossed the lowlands to the mountains and before
that the coeans etc. But their history begins MORE than 7 gens ago,
records ONLY 7 gens, but begins only AT their inhabitation of the local
area.

What does that say? Dunno but it suggests something about other cultures
view of time and history.
