I would guess that Rossetti & most of the people who sing her hymn make no connection at all with millennialist notions. It's really amazing that someone could turn what was supposed to be a simple Christmas greeting with a focus on the marvel of the Incarnation into crusade against Cerinthus, Scofield et al. I'm all for reine Lehre & alertness against false doctrine but Janice needs to focus her inquisitorial proclivities on real problems. She is well on her way to becoming the little girl who cried heresy.

This has gotten well beyond the science-religion bounds of the list so I'll cease with this - even though Janice will probably feel compelled to reply with yet assertion that she's right.

  He doesn't "come to rein" at the second coming. He came to rein at the first coming. We are NOW in the "millennium" (Rev. 20) of unknown duration.

  To give the uninitiated the impression that the final resurrection (second coming) is his "coming to rein" is misleading and can't legitimately be excused as "poetic license" since it only reinforces ideas - variations of which - began with people like the heretic, Cerinthus.
