Yes Janice. As my then 3 year old daughter used to say when an answer to a
persistent question wasn't going fast enough, "I know dat." We know that
Christ is seated at the right hand of the Father. We - including the late
Ms. Rossetti - know that "When he comes to expose and separate out the tares
who are growing unnoticed among the wheat in the visible church, and to
establish the new heaven and the new earth" wouldn't fit the scansion of the
verse very well. We also know that the reign of Christ hasn't been made
fully visible throughout the world yet, & that there's such a thing as
poetic license. &, not to be too tedious, we also know that if we were to
ignore the requirements of poetry we might choose to say, with Acts 3:21 in
mind, "till he comes to complete the restoration of all things."
(Extra credit for any poet who can condense that enough & get it to fit the
rhyme scheme. "Reconcile" could be used instead of "restore" - vgl.
Col.1:20.)

Froehliche Weihnachten
George
