My best guess (about which I am uncertain) is that Sir John Templeton is
some type of pantheist and probably not a Christian theist in the orthodox
or ordinary sense. I realize he is a member of the ASA (has been for many
years), and that several of the top people in his foundation are evangelical
Christians, including his son Jack. Sir John is also an unusually sincere,
straightforward, and kind person. He does wear his heart and his ideals on
his sleeve--er, his website. The values and attitudes he affirms and
supports with his money are those that Christians also affirm and should
support with our money: humility, gratitude, and charity are the most
obvious ones.
He certainly has his idiosyncracies, but don't we all?
