ICR Vol 34, #1 -- Jan 2005

CAn it be true? 33 years of disseminating YEC nonsense! 33 years of a
slow -- but steady -- gain in YEC views among US citizens.

My good friend Gordon Brown asks "HOW" we afford these guys "room at the
table."

We do so by including in science courses an acknowledgement of their
scientific (not religious) views, along with appropriate refutations.
That's all.

Sure -- this takes time. It is, IMNSHO, worth it. For myriads of the
students are going to encounter these YEC arguments anyway -- and
encounter them in situations where the problems with them cannot -- or
are not -- acknowledged.

I still shudder to recall Joe Sebeny's attack on scientists in the
Christian church in Durango last year. Absolute true truth; nary a
contrary piece of evidence. Accusations of lies in the case of
radiometric researchers. For my notes on this abomination, see the link
on my site,

www.burgy.50megs.com/yecsem.htm

Well -- here is a summary of ICR's Acts and Facts, Jan 2005

Article recapping 2004 (no author but a picture of one of the ICR
faculty). Praises to the Lord for victories. Financials in order. A&F
circulation 130,000 homes. 2750 radio outlets. 7500 visitors a day to the
web site how many does ASA get?).

Three new books published; a 5 year extension of ICR's graduate school's
accreditation, and great progress on the RATE project. Accounts of
various lectures around the country. ICR now has many more speakers than
a few years ago.

Testimonies of how the YEC message brough people to Christ.

Accounts of Dr Gish's work in Peru.

Dr Larry vardiman is studying "evidence" for a short-term ice age in
Yosemite.

An article on gene mutations.

Accounts of lectures at colleges. Concordia University is desribed as a
"mostly creationist school).

Long article on rapid wood petrification, which "confirms" the YEC
position.

Article on the "big bang." "Most cosmologists accept (it) is that it fits
so well into the theory of total evolution." A second reason is "(the
BB) is essentially the only cosmology which funding agencies are willing
to support financially." Mention of Eric Lerner, who published a
complaint in NEW SCIENTIST recently, co-signed by 33 others.

Comment that Van Till and Hugh Ross turn "Jesus Christ into a liar."

Finally -- which came first, the chicken or the egg? John Morris "proves
conclusively" that it was the chicken. The Bible says so.

Sigh
