Glen,
What is the "real historical" interpretation of the cursing of the serpent
in Gen.?
I ask this because according to evolution, limbless amphibians and snakes
were around before human beings appeared on the scene, and they were
apparently "eating dust" during that time, prior to being "curse" to do
so. So what exactly what was the meaning of the "curse" to "go on thy
belly and eat dust all the days of thy life?"
I have also been studying the tongue-flicking behavior of snakes, not
limited to them of course, since even the fork-tongued cousin of the
snake, the Komodo dragon, uses the same method of obtaining molecules from
the air that light on its tongue, and pulling its tongue inside its mouth
to touch its forked-tips into the smelling-tasting organ at the roof of
its mouth. Neither the serpent nor the Komodo Dragon actually "eat dirt,"
but they are primarily gathering molecules in from the air, scent
molecules.
Just some questions,
Ed
