And at the NTSE in Austin in 1997 Phil stated openly in his public
address that "theistic evolution" as a viable Christian stance would be
gone in a year or two. I challenged him on that rather strongly. Even if
the ID arguments were to wildly succeed, people don't change all that
quickly.

In a private conversation he agreed that his time frame might be a little
ambitious.
