Anyone who is saved from evolutionism to creationism by
the work of creation scientists is still lost. That's
anathema, not the gospel.

If you go to a swamp, you will observe a lot of fallen dead
vegetation. Most trees, herbs, shrubs, etc. fall down and
fall apart when they die. Even if they do not travel far, they
are slightly allochthonous and are not directly associated
with roots. However, this in no way supports the claim that
the dead vegetation was deposited by a global flood.

Another problem, also seen in the arguments for numerical
patterns in the Bible, is the lack of a good null model. Bill
is trying to argue that a perceived problem with
conventional geology demonstrates a global flood.
However, it would be necessary to show that a global flood
model explains the geologic column as a whole (or
whatever part of it is being identified as diluvial) better than
conventional geology. This would require developing a
coherent model of the Flood. It's also possible that neither
has a good explanation at present for something, but that
does not support either view.
