The incident you cite involved a person introducing the question of about Jesus
& expecting other to respond. That is very different from a situation in which a person
who has chosen to participate in a public discussion about Jesus & then being asked to
clarify his views about Jesus. This is not a church meeting but it is a
science-religion list in which most of the participants are Christians and where
christology is an important of the religion part of science-religion discussions.
