        Genesis 2 however says nothing about the man being the head of the household.
Any idea of subordination of wife to husband only comes into the story after they've
eaten of the fruit (which is not, BTW, said to be an apple). It would stay closer to
the text to say that the command not to eat of the tree of knowledge was given to the
man (2:17) before the woman is created.
