I didn't say "savior" but simply "Messiah" = Christ, as in some of the passages
you quote above.
Following a bit after your 2d quote there is the statement, "There shall not one
of the people of the Book but shall believe in Him before his death, and in the day of
resurrection, He will be a witness against them."
Another Sura (III, 40 - I'm lazily quoting from the old Everyman edition) says:
"Remember when the angel said, "O Mary! Verily God announceth to thee the Word from
Him: His name shall be Messiah Jesus the Son of Mary, illustrious in this world, and in
the next, and one of those who have near access to God."
I'm not a great fan of Islam but I think it's best understood as a Christian
heresy (as John of Damascus, e.g., did.) & the christological statements in the
Qur'an, limited though they are, may provide the best approach to serious
Christian-Muslim dialogue.
