    Please see if you can find out exactly why the project was canned. I.e.,
    was it really political (Clinton)? We have a new administration now,
    maybe saner minds would give this another shot.

    Was this reported in the media (e.g., Popular Mechanics)? If so, do you
    have any references or copies of articles, maybe even a video I could get
    a copy of?

    Again, I would be most interested in the fuel effeciency, especially for
    a Volkswagen-sized car. If Glenn is right, and I have every reason to
    believe he is (at least about oil reserves :-)), the timing may be better
    now than it was when the car got crushed.
