    Hi Michael,

    >I find this an offensive e-mail.

Thanks for your honesty :-). But, weren't you the one who called
YEC ideas "heretical" a couple of months ago. I'll look in the
archives if you really want me to :-).

    >The ASA (like its British counterpart
    >Christians in Science which I am a member) does not stipulate what its
    >members should believe and rightly so.

Thank goodness! But, I don't remember advocating this idea. Could
you point out to me where I advocated this idea, Michael?

    >The ASA basis of faith does not
    >exclude YEC and thus some are members and therefore on this list.

Yes, that is difficult to argue with, Michael :-). My PRIMARY objection
to YECs is their UTTER UNWILLINGNESS TO HAVE A RATIONAL DISCUSSION.
They must think that they have all the answers. Wait, isn't that the
name of one of their organizations!!! Answers in Genesis!!! I'll take
Genesis in Question over that type of attitude any day!!! And, I
applaud the ASA for their "non-dogmatic" approach :-).

    >Though I hold YEC to be utterly wrong I defend this policy of both the ASA
    >and CIS.

I wasn't, in any way, shape or form, asking for YECs to be kicked out
of the ASA, Michael! But, I may just go back again to ignoring their
posts. Posts which, by the way, I find offensive to Christianity. But,
you aren't the person to discuss that last sentence with :-).

    >It is also important to be polite and civil to others, as I think
    >Jesus might want this!

Hold on their, Mr. Roberts. Jesus Christ was hung on a cross and
crucified. What if He had just decided to be polite and civil all of the
time!! Really, Michael, you are rather obsessed with "manners." We
Americans are more direct, I think.

    >As Christians we lose the argument once we are rude and nasty and perhaps 1
    >Corinthians 13 is useful here.

Excellent point. Rudeness and nastiness wasn't my goal. I apologize if
that was the perception of some. That being said, I find many posts
"rude and nasty." I tend to "consider the source."

    >Jim. I understand where you are coming from

    Ahhhh :-).

    >but please stop being so strident.

Would you be willing to have a public discussion about the days of Gen 1?
