In the light of your more comprehensive answer, the reference is probably
not very useful. Next time I'm in the library, however, I'll look for it.
As I said -- just an off hand comment by an essayist, with no citation.
It is towards the back of _Gambling on God_ edited by Jeff Jordan, 1994,
a collection of essays on Pascal's Wager.
