    John,

Thank you for bringing this site to my attention. However, as you will
no doubt appreciate, until I have examined it closely I am unable to
offer a reasoned comment. This I shall endeavour to do over the next day
    or so.

I am interested in your use of 'another' in your subject heading.
Having recently drawn attention to the WBC website and described it as
'the vilest...ever', the other which you rate as 'amusing' must be my
own, viz http://www.otherbiblecode.com. I shall therefore proceed to
offer some comments on that likely assumption.

Some years ago, while deeply engrossed in the study of the numerical
phenomena associated with the Bible's opening Hebrew words, I wrote as
    follows:

"The proposition that the Creator would want to underwrite the truth of
a statement that He foresaw would, one day, be flatly denied or watered
down by the majority of the world's intelligensia, seems eminently
reasonable. There can be little doubt that the authority of the Bible as
a whole rests, ultimately, upon the authority of its opening verse, 'In
the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.' (Genesis 1:1).
Taken at face value, these are the received words of a Sovereign God for
whom nothing is impossible; a God more than capable of creating all
things from nothing in six literal days some six thousand years ago.
              -------------------------------------------
"To carry any weight with an Establishment that is largely hostile to
this message the principle of verification would need to satisfy at
    least three important criteria, viz
    (1) it would need to be universal in its scope, ie be completely
    independent of language, of intellect, of time, and of place;
    (2) it would need to appeal strictly to self-evident truth and logical
    argument, ie no step of faith would be required to grasp its import;
    (3) it would need to be decisive, ie leave no room for doubt that the
    Creator is its Author.

"Clearly, only the 'language' of number can fulfil these exacting
requirements. But how can the words of an ancient language lead to a
unique set of numbers? By what generally-acceptable method can this
first and crucial step be accomplished? BY ARRANGING THAT, AT THE TIME
APPOINTED, HEBREW LETTERS WOULD FUNCTION AS NUMERALS. And by what means
can such numbers acquire a generally-acknowledged significance? SIMPLY
BY TAKING A PROMINENT AND ABSOLUTE NUMBER STRUCTURE AS BASIS, AND
GUIDING THE DEVELOPMENT OF VOCABULARY, SEMANTICS AND SYNTAX TO ACHIEVE
    COINCIDENCE WITH IT.

"Whether or not we believe that God plays such an active role in the
affairs of mankind, if we allow reason to be our guide, we must squarely
face the implications of the evidence presented at
http://www.otherbiblecode.com - not overlooking the fact that the
principal object of out attention (Genesis 1:1) is, at the same time, a
powerful assertion and a challenging and strategically-placed verse. It
is difficult, indeed, to avoid the conclusion that these are all
carefully coordinated features of purposeful design intended to meet the
demands of a pressing human situation."

Since writing these words, the corroborating evidence - drawn from both
biblical and secular sources - has accumulated, and is now unassailable.
Here are some of the highlights:

    (1) Genesis 1:1 takes the form of an equilateral triangle embraced by a
unique cube - for the Christian, both geometries having symbolic
connotations. These figures arise from the summing of the numbers
represented by the 28 letters (constituents of the 7 Hebrew words).
     (2) A value for the universal constant 'Pi ' - correct to 5
significant figures - is obtained by taking the ratio of the products of
letter-values to products of word-values. (Note: since Pi is
transcendental, this ratio of integers must, of necssity, be an
approximation; however, it is a good one - correct to 0.0012%).
    (3) The Greek form of the Lord's Name and Title are closely associated
    numerically with Genesis 1:1.
    (4) The most popular of the ISO A-series of cut paper sizes (used
worldwide since its introduction in the 1960s) is designated 'A4 '. The
metric dimensions of this standard are in close correspondence with the
    word-values of Genesis 1:1.

Whilst it would be reasonable to predict that these truths would
represent data non grata to the unbeliever, to my intense surprise they
are unwelcome to the majority of Christians also. John, I very much
doubt that these interesting non-responses have much to do with
ridicule, as you appear to suggest. Perhaps you would care to speak for
the many and explain why you, as a Christian, are not prepared to
countenance God performing a standing miracle of this kind in our day.

"In any field, the Establishment is not seeking the truth, because it is
composed of those who, having found part of it yesterday, believe that
they are in possession of all of it today."
