    Here's an example of why I do not find the association between interesting numbers and Genesis 1:1 or other verses particularly significant:

    Take the phrase "cute purple dinosaur" (presumably referring to Barney, although Theriot et al. argued that Barney is a hominid in the Annals of Improbable Research). Keeping in mind that u and v are interchangeable up through a few centuries ago, add up all the letters that are Roman numerals:
    C+V+V+L+D+I+V=666
