Did he say that all the genes that have been called "junk genes" were
still performing functions today? See, Allen, you are a typical YEC. You
grasp at a single straw of evidence and twist it into whatever shape it needs
to be in to suit your purpose.
It really does not matter if they said "some genes" which had been call junk genes actually have had a function or if they said "all junk genes". I did not claim that this proves that all junk genes have been shown to have a function. What this shows is that at this point junk genes may seem to have no purpose, but Creationists expect, as research continues, more and more "junk genes" will turn out to have purpose after all.
