My experience is that most of the scientists on the CRSnet accept magnetic
reversals, attributed to events during (or perhaps somewhat after) the
Flood. However, based on extensive research by Humphries and others, most
also feel that the magnetic field is weakening also.

I think this was from the same source as the decaying magnetic field
argument, with Lyellian extrapolation of the current decay rate. The
argument appeared to be based on reading an introductory geology text, as it
displayed no knowledge of the actual paleomagnetic or other relevant
evidence. It also merely substituted one problem with another, as the
formation of any mirror-image parallel bands of basalt is just as good an
argument for plate tectonics, no matter what distinguishes the bands.
