True enough. I have asked my YEC friends on several occasions the simple
question "how do you see Gosse's work?" I have never gotten an answer --
    not
even an acknowledgement of the question.

Now there does appear to be, onthis LISTSERV, one or two
YEC advocates. So I'll pose that question to them at this time. Any
    takers?

Note that I make the assumption one has read Gosse. The book is in print
and is not all that expensive. Several persons (Gardner, Gould (I think)
    and others
have written about the book; their descriptions are not all that complete
    (IMHO).

Gosse's son mentions it in his book FATHER & SON, but that book was
    written
many many years after the events of 1857 and his son was a stripling of
eight years old when they did happen; I regard FATHER & SON as an
unreliable source as to what Gosse senior actually wrote.

I would say that such people make themselves to appear as liars, not God.

    But I see your point.

Congratulations, by the way, on your recent admission into the
    institution of marriage.
If you last as long as I have (42+ years) you will find it is, next to
    God perhaps, the
most important thing in your life. May you have much joy.

    Burgy
