    Perhaps a more useful terminology than the gasket would be describing God's
    will as a point (more Calvinist) or a region (which I think is the position
    Glen is taking). The region option was illustrated by Fred Brooks (whom I
    believe is an ASA member) from parenting:
    The children would get three meals a day whether or not they asked for them.
    The children would not get motorcycles whether or not they asked for them.
    The children would go to the fair if they asked to and would not if they
    did not ask.
    To me, completely predetermined seems to best fit with God working
    everything to His purpose, but it is clear from the Bible that we are
    responsible for our actions.
