James Jeans (1877-1946) and Arthur Eddington (1882-1944) were both "science popularizers" in the 1920-1950 era.
Were either of these gentlemen Christians? Theists? I seem to remember Eddington being a Quaker - but I'm not sure. Were they influential in their day -- say -- as Jastrow, Gould, Sagan etc. are today?
