I don't know, bacteria are found in rocks several thousand feet down,
living at high temperatures and they occupy the highest mountaintops. They
occupy the ocean, the land and everywhere in between. What do you mean
they haven't filled every available niche? Excuse me while I go wash the
bacteria off my hands.
