Agreed.

However, if we are willing to stretch our thinking to a state of bonafide
openmindedness, would it not be worth considering this phenomenon from a
S.E.T.I. viewpoint?
That is to say, it makes zero sense to me to hypothecate that Infinite
Intellegence would employ obscure codes to convey information (when,
presumably, direct communication would be an option open to such a Force.) It
stretches me far less to entertain the possibilty that such obscure coding
might be employed by extraterrestial intelligence(s) - especially if an
attempt were being made to communicate with sentient life forms not yet
evolved sufficiently to comprehend direct communication. Perhaps a survey
mission might employ such methodology on the off chance that the communique
thus left behind would survive until the sentient species reached an
evolutionary level that permitted comprehension.

Has anyone ever read any speculation on this? Is anyone aware of any serious
investigation of this line of thinking? I have evolved to the point of
genuine curiosity on the subject. :o)
