I accept your apology. We all make mistakes.
But I am not accepting this apology naively. I am working under the
assumption that you are in fact, Trivers, and I would still accept your
apology. Last Saturday Trivers told me he was leaving the list. I asked
majordomo for a list of participants to see if he had gone. Trivers was
still on the list March 1. You, botanist1@juno.com, were not on the list,
inspite of your claim that you have been on the list for months. You do
appear on the list March 3 when I repeated the majordomo request and saw
that Trivers left and your name had appeared. You were the very last
individual in the list.
There is also this point: I didn't understand one comment in the above. I
never saw any post by Karen Johnson with substantive remarks on the Eve
hypothesis, I don't know what that remarks refers to. The only remarks I saw
with regard to the Eve hypothesis were made by Trivers which is another
reason to suspect that you are one and the same. If you are not, then you
have done the best job making it look like that.
To the list:
I want everyone to know that if they ever find a quotation or citation of
mine to be in error please call my attention to it. I will correct it.
Also, as I mentioned a few weeks ago to my friend and debating adversary Jim
Bell, I am tired. And the numerous charges of late about my motives,
truthfulness and accuracy have punctuated my need to take a break. All of
this furor is very tiring. I intend to unsubscribe after answering
tonight's email. Everyone will have the last word.
