drb: Pardon?? Actually 'according to Scripture' Exodus 20:3; the first of
the
ten commandments says, "You shall have no other gods before me." So no he
would not be justified. Scripture has got to be read as a whole, not just
little out-of-context snippets.

But how can you be sure that this person is not the god of your religion ?
Perhaps the god does not like other gods to be worshipped but how can you
identify who or what is your god ?
