The most recent posts by Steve J. and Brian H. on this thread were
reactions to a post of mine that contained an analogy between the
theoretical explanation of Hamilton's Principle of Least Action by
Feynman using the path integral reformulation of quantum mechanics, and
the theoretical explanation of biological change by Darwin using
variation and natural selection.

I currently am swamped with end-of-semester grading, exam writing, and
other duties and do not have the necessary free time needed to compose
my response to these posts. I expect to be able to find the time in
about 2 1/2 weeks, and will try to respond then (even if the thread has
long since shriveled up). If (on the outside chance that) anyone is
eager for my answer to these posts, my counsel is to be patient. In
(the more likely) case that the subscribers don't care at all about this
issue, then my counsel is to erase my post when it shows up.
