In responding to Russell Arndts' Question # 2, namely,

"Why are the Theistic evolutionists most likely or always the group from
which prochoice beliefs come,"

Denis Lamoureux comments,

"I believe the answer is because most TEs are theological liberals."

This, of course, assumes there is a genuine link between liberalism and
the prochoice position which (according to his belief) is also linked to
the TE position. Possibly so. But it seems to me the link between
liberalism and the prochoice position is not really politically inherent
(regardless of how it appears in America). In this regard, my experience,
when we lived in England for a year, was that we encountered very many
politically liberal Christians who were very solidly prolife. Of course
they believed in the sanctity of human life. And (rightly or wrongly),
they were often opposed to capital punishment. My guess is that many more
of them than American Christians are TE minded.

Perhaps David Tyler can shed some light on these matters.

I could also comment on the conversion of Jesse Jackson from prolife to
prochoice, but the reflector police would probably take away my modem. :-)
