In response to Kevin's assertion: << The DATA isn't the problem. Stop being
so focused on the data. The problem is HOW THE DATA IS MANIPULATED INTO A
STORY."

Glenn wrote: <<I am sorry. I thought science's job was to be focused on the
data.>>

Is Glenn not being a tad disingenuous here? Science's "job" is NOT to be
"focused on the data." A dog scampering out of the way of a semi is "focused
on the data." A fly on manure is "focused on the data." They are not doing
science.

Science, of course, is the systemization and interpretation of physical
knowledge. This is precisely what Kevin meant in a colorful way. He has, he
believes, caught Glenn in a false interpretive mode based upon a preconceived
belief, i.e. "manipulation" of the data. To say "But I AM focused on the data"
is not an answer.
