I for one will miss your contributiions. No, you didn't post very
frequently, but I had the opportunity to meet you and appreciate your
thinking.

Regarding your challenge: I don't think there is any easy way to
communicate to people who have been immersed in creationist views for many
years that they ought to take another look at the science they oppose. But
you _can_ communicate the love of Christ to them and to their kids whom you
teach. You can communicate the science to the kids in school and be ready
to think and struggle with them through some of the difficult issues they
run into in reconciling their faith with science. If they see you as an
authentic Christian, it will be more difficult for them to dismiss your
views on the relationship between science and faith (not guaranteed of
course, but neither is much of anything else) You are unlikely to be very
successful in persuading parents to change their views on evolution, but it
would be real progress just to convince them that there are authentic
Christians who accept evolution, and that the views of these folks are
worth listening to.

I'll be praying for you.
