    Hi all,

I have recently noticed how Swinburne and others have been using Bayes
theory to "prove" Christianity. Using Bayes' theorem maintains that the
ressurection of Jesus is 97% probable.

Thomas Bayes (1702-1761) - the founder of Bayesian statistics - was a
Presbyterian minister in Tunbridge Wells, UK. Does anyone know of any
connection between his religious beliefs and his statistical theory?

Has any work been done on the connection between his beliefs and his
    mathematics?

    Many thanks,

    Steve
