I am a bit tardy in getting in on this and perhaps even a bit off on my
logic but the adage "The enemy of my enemy can be my friend" comes to mind
when thinking of Wells and the ID group. As I see it they both dislike some
of the arguments that have been used to support and teach evolution and if
that is so, then I would see nothing wrong with the ID group using or
supporting anyones arguments (includeing those of Wells") against evolution
as long as they agree with the argument. Whatever else Wells may believe
and argue for or against would be beside the point. Would I not use a good
argument for a particular idea in geology just because I disagreed with the
other beliefs of the author of that argument? No, I would use the arugment.
I might point out that it was not my arugument and that I dissagreed with
the originator of the argument about other points just so there would be no
confusion, but I would use the argument. I guess the question is one of
whether the ID people like and agree with Well's arguments or do they like
and agree with his beliefs. I don't know the answer to that.

    Darryl
