In the last message I mentioned Kenneth Miller's book "Finding Darwin's
God", which is wonderful. I've also learned a lot from Michael Ruse's book
"Can a Darwinian be a Christian?" (though I don't agree with certain parts
of it).
As for ethical issues in genetics and genomics, a wonderful Christian
perspective is provided by Ted Peters in "Playing God".
As long as we're discussing great books, a terrific one to give to a
seeker is Dr. Armand Nicholi's book (just out), called "The Question of
God", where he elegantly compares the worldviews of Sigmund Freud and C.S.
Lewis. Guess which one makes a lot more sense?

Subject: Francis Collins Online: book suggestions?
Dr. Collins,
I recall that after Bill Phillips won the Nobel Prize in Physics a few years
ago, he said that "The Fourth Day" (by ASA-er Howard Van Till) had been
helpful to him in developing his thinking about science and faith. Is there
some book or books that you have found similarly helpful?
A related question is whether there is a book you could recommend on the
many ethical issues involved in your own field.
