    Allen,
You have quoted a number of mostly journalistic reports with the
implication that they are gravely in error. This is not always the case.
Further, journalists are notorious for exaggeration, jumping to
conclusions, and other errors. This is quite different from the level of
accuracy expected from referred journals and other serious publications.
To be sure, authors do not always measure up, but I have seen numerous
retractions of errors that the authors have caught, or that have been
brought to their attention. I have also seen sharp criticism of
misconstrued citations in the journals in which the articles appeared. I
have seldom seen such corrections in the YEC publications. Further, Glenn
has found so many errors in YEC publications in the past that he checks
each. I'll bet that he also checks the information in the popular press.
I have to conclude that your intended defense is misconstrued and
inadequate. This comes from one who was YEC until he found that they had
    misrepresented both theory and data.
    Dave
