biologists?

Hello from Kansas! Despite the rumors, card-carrying
evolutionists are not being forcibly turned away at the
state line. But seriously, a little context:

I participated on this list about a year ago, but took
a leave from it while finishing up my MS in biology.
Now I am taking a couple semesters to be certified to
teach biology at the 2ndary level (jr. & high school).
As you might imagine, the recent events here in the land
of Oz have been of interest to me. My advisor was on
the panel that composed the now-rejected standards
that had that nasty "E" word in them, and then a couple
weekends back my local church hosted an Answers in
Genesis seminar. With this kind of fun, I guy doesn't
need to go to the movies for excitement.

Through my previous participation on this list as well
as doing quite a bit of searching through the archived
posts to the list, I have become vicariously familiar
with some of the participants here. However, as a
theistic evolutionist (+/-), I have been struck by the
apparent paucity of similarly-minded biologists on the
list. I HAVE been impressed by the formidable
biological knowledge possessed by a number of persons
on the list. If there are biologists even lurking on
the list (I know there are at least a couple who do
participate) I would appreciate you sending word to
me privately. If you want to make it a public role
call, I don't care. I am simply compiling a list of
science degree-holders, who think that evolution is
not just the domain of atheists, for my creationist
friends who do not recognize such people exist.
Any others from other fields are free to contact me
as well.

Grace and peace to you. Jeff
