Ascribing motivation

Moorad wrote: "Theistic evolution always seemed to me as the way a
Christian reconciles his/her science with his/her Christian faith and so
attempt to have his/her cake and eat it too."

Brian replied "This is a rather insulting statement, Moorad. What
evidence do you have that I am reconciling my faith and my science?"

Brian, I don't think Moorad was necessarily meaning to insult anyone,
just
expressing his particular view. One with which I don't agree either. I am
a "PC" rather than a "TE" myself, but as far back as I can remember, and
this was before I was even a Christian (I was a deist), I had no
particular difficulty with the theology of the TE position, only with its
scientific presuppositions.

Brian makes a good point, one which is too often overlooked. Ascribing
motivations of one sort or another to a fellow debater is usually a
fruitless game. If he/she says "these are my motivations," that is
another matter of course.

Peace!

Burgy
