He
>asks what would be almost our earliest memories, and answers, our memory of
>floating in the womb, moving down the birth canal, and being delivered into
>the hands of the obstetrician.

This also breaks down when you consider that its only in developed nations
AND in recent times that obstetricians delivered babies. From time
immemorial, midwifes and the mothers themselves delivered their babies, and
this was quite a different scenario from the "doctor in stark white" and
bright medical lights that we all tend to think of birth as. But the
reporting of the figure in white, and bright lights etc exists in all
cultures, through different ages.
