For me it is enough that Jesus repeatedly referred to the Genesis accounts
as historical. His use of, for example the literality of the Noah account
as exemplifying the literality of His return should offer a clue. Peter
uses the precise analogy (throwing in Sodom and angels for good measure) to
represent God's willingess to help us. Let us hope that the origination
accounts are literal!
