• To run your own desktop web server, you need a dedicated connection to the internet and a permanent IP address (Sounds complicated, but all faculty and staff at Calvin already have this! Mine is 153.106.13.205 with the hostname mcgraytx.calvin.edu.)
  
  
• Next you need a web server program such as WebSTAR, NetPresenz, Macintosh Personal Web Sharing, Microsoft Front Page (Or a comparable program in the PC universe.)
  
  
• Launch the WebSTAR installer, then launch theWebSTAR application and Voila! -- the whole world can access documents from your computer. [Live demo via Timbuktu or screen shot to illustrate.]
