I know!  As I recall you name it the Mason Dixon line.  My daughter lives in Oklahoma and when they first started attending church there someone remarked that they did not know there were any Christians in Canada. 

 YEC is just the symptom of a concordist, literalist theology usually associated with very conservative politics and a deep distrust of anything liberal (i.e. alien).

John I don't think that YEC beliefs are the worst problem in such groups.  Things like you mention plus perfectionism leading to pretense, secondary separation, limited view of the Lordship of Christ, active none cooperation with other Christians come to mind.  However we must still remember that most of them are still brothers in the Lord.
