I'm not committed to any such focus (on murder e.g.) --I was just going along
with the scenario someone else brought up. I think a broad class of examples
should serve just as well to illustrate how knowledge of the involved
species/sentient beings is essential to understanding activities attributed to
them. I don't see what's wrong with the murder example, though. Your point
that even that has nuances to flesh out for us who DO have knowledge of each
other just reinforces the point of how hard it would be to understand an action
from entirely different class of sentient beings.
