Paul,
Regarding Murphy, I've read a few of her books including *"Whatever Happened
to the Soul?" *... my very strong recommendation to anyone who is not a
specialist in this field is to start with her book* "Bodies and Souls, or
Spirited Bodies?"*. I did not read them in this order but wish I had ...
the second is a much easier read (probably the easiest one of Murphy's books
that I've read - I kept having to check the book cover to confirm it was the
same author :-) ) and a better introduction to the subject.
thanks,
