Moorad's question is also directly answered -- in the negative -- by Nicolaas Rupke's chapter in Ron Numbers' new edited collection, "Galileo Goes to Jail and other Myths About Science and Religion." (Harvard, 2009) The relevant chapter is about the myth "That the Theory of Organic Evolution is Based on Circular Reasoning." Rupke, a former YEC (his story is told in Numbers' book, "The Creationists"), is an historian of natural history.
