RE: [asa] ASA suggestion (podcast?)

The nice thing about iTunes is that it is a way to get publicity with the general public. People like me have an ipod and look in the directory for science/religion discussions. And note that anyone can use iTunes on their computer without an iPod, as David says.

I'm glad to hear the last conference presentations are there- very nice. A step-up would be having a regular podcast, which equates to freshness and relevancy, esp. if discussing current events such as Francis Collins and the NIH position.

What would be fun is hearing a panel discussion with a YEC, OEC, TE, and atheist (devil's advocate, for a distinctive perspective).

Another interesting segment would be interviewing book authors. They are easy to find as they are also looking for promotion.

This discussion list could also tie-in to the podcast.

It seems a good idea as long as the free part of iTunes remains available as a repository.

But is there a reason the ASA website is not just as good a repository? What are the issues there? Any MP3 player s/b able to play the audio, is that not true? I dont own an ipod but listen to radio station feeds off iTunes, but surely thats also not the only directory of radio stations either.

We'll probably do the same this year.

Have you ever considered a monthly science/religion podcast? Check out apologia on itunes as an example of what you can do. I would find it interesting. I listen to a lot of science/religion podcasts. It would also promote ASA to the public.

An example would be having a monthly or biweekly panel phone discussion. Just tape it and put it on itunes. I think it is all free (free to post and free to listen.)
